The Resident is likely to be renewed. Of course it is. Its ratings are above the Fox scripted average, but it’s week 32 and I’m running out of new shows to put in the headline.
4/26: Updated with Blue Bloods renewal. 4/29 Updated with Batwoman & Legends of Tomorrow cancellations.
TV Grim Reaper’s predictions are for scripted broadcast primetime show renewals for the 2022-23 season or cancellations by the end of the 2021-22 season.

ABC shows predicted to be canceled
Queens – terrible ratings, rookie show
A Million Little Things – terrible ratings, but wouldn’t be shocked if syndication economics kept it alive for another season
ABC shows predicted to be renewed
Big Sky – borderline ratings even for a 10pm show, barely leaning renewal, cancellation would not be a surprise
Home Economics, The Wonder Years – borderline ratings, barely leaning renewal for both, cancellation would not be a surprise
The Conners – would be surprised by cancellation
CBS shows predicted to be canceled
Good Sam – terrible ratings, rookie show
How We Roll – last week’s ratings showed signs of life, stay tuned
CBS shows predicted to be renewed
Blue Bloods – ratings aren’t a problem, but there is always cancellation danger for very old, expensive CBS dramas, since their (non-public) syndication deals determine their longevity. RENEWED 4/26
B Positive, United States of Al – One WB Lorre sitcom was renewed (Bob Hearts Abishola), these two were not. The only reason that would have been done is that one of these two is getting canceled. Which one? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Their ratings are neck and neck.
FBI, FBI: Most Wanted, FBI: International, Magnum, PI, Equalizer – would be surprised by cancellation
CW shows predicted to be canceled
CBS & WB Studios will cancel several of their CW shows, but it’s impossible for me to predict which shows.
CW shows predicted to be renewed
Batwoman (canceled 4/29), Legends of Tomorrow (canceled 4/29), Dynasty, In the Dark, Legacies, Roswell, NM, 4400, Naomi, All American: Homecoming, Charmed – The CW is for sale! I’ve got no idea how that might effect the decisions that CBS & WB Studios make on their shows, but I’ll predict they renew them all, and take a few misses on the shows they’ll inevitably cancel.
Fox shows predicted to be canceled
Welcome To Flatch – terrible ratings.
Pivoting – terrible ratings.
Fox shows predicted to be renewed
Call Me Kat – low ratings. Predicting renewal only on the guess that Fox won’t completely start from scratch next season with live action sitcoms.
The Resident, 9-1-1, 9-1-1:Lonestar – would be surprised by cancellation
NBC shows predicted to be canceled
Grand Crew– terrible ratings, rookie show
The Endgame – terrible ratings, rookie show
Kenan– ratings too low for a sophomore show renewal
NBC shows predicted to be renewed
Mr. Mayor – ratings as terrible as Kenan & Grand Crew, leaning slightly towards a renewal prediction (vs Kenan) on the guess that pairing it with Young Rock in the schedule demonstrates NBC’s added interest in the show.
Law & Order: OC, Law & Order, Young Rock, American Auto – would be surprised by cancellation
