In recent years, news for some existing shows has slipped into the following Saturday & Sunday. No way to anticipate if that will happen again.
Most networks prefer to get all the news about existing shows out prior to their ad upfront meetings (schedule below), because their ad upfront meetings focus on their new shows, not their existing shows.
In very rare instances, announcements/news for existing shows may come after the upfront meetings. One Rules Of Engagement renewal wasn’t announced until after the CBS upfront, because the contract negotiations took so long. Also, CBS canceled Unforgettable prior to their upfront meeting and then un-canceled it well after their upfront when Sony made them an offer they couldn’t refuse.
The broadcast network ad upfront meetings are the final dates on which each network’s Fall 2017 schedules will be revealed, so that’s when you’ll hear about the fate/scheduling of new shows.

*While the NBC upfront meeting will be held on May 15, if recent history repeats itself, NBC should release their 2017-18 schedule information on Sunday, May 14.
Of course, if you follow the reaper’s predictions you’ll be pretty sure to know most show’s fates well in advance of these dates.
Cable networks also have advertising upfront events spread throughout March, April and May, and while they often announce new shows at them they aren’t typically “the day which all renewals and cancellations are finally revealed” like the broadcast events.
