CBS occasionally cancels more than one veteran (non-rookie) drama.
They canceled The Unit and Without A Trace in 2008/9. They canceled Cold Case and Numb3rs in 2009/10. They canceled The Mentalist and CSI in 2014/15.
What’s the chance CBS cancels two veteran dramas this season? The reaper thinks it’s very good.
Person Of Interest is getting a The Mentalist-esque short mid-season treatment this year, after a skin of its teeth renewal last spring. It’s likely to be canceled even before looking at its ratings.
Not to mention the doomed CSI:Cyber.
Three other dramas (The Good Wife, NCIS:LA, Hawaii Five-0) are both old and very low rated. The reaper will eventually predict one of those will be canceled (and based on his record, will probably pick the wrong one!), but he thinks it’s very likely that one of those three will go.

The Reaper Index is the ratio of a scripted show’s new episode adults 18-49 ratings relative to the new episode ratings of the other scripted shows on its own network. It’s calculated by dividing a show’s new episode Live+Same Day adults 18-49 average rating by the Live+Same Day new episode average of all the new scripted show episodes on the show’s own network. The network’s average ratings in the calculation are not time weighted (ex. hour long shows are not weighted twice what 30 minute shows are).
(F) -Fridays: Shows airing on Fridays were renewed with significantly lower than average Indexes.
