The Goldbergs🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂

The TV Grim Reaper will bring plenty of bad news for TV show fans this season, but his first predictions of the new season are always good news!

Agents of SHIELD is certain to be renewed for a fourth season.

Why?

The (Recently Updated) Guarantee of The Syndication Gods
No show produced by a network’s own studio (AoS is produced by ABC), in the past eight seasons that finished its third season with at least 66 episodes has failed to get renewed for a fourth season.

Why isn’t The Goldbergs season four renewal just as certain?

The Goldbergs is produced by Sony. Until last season, The Gods certain guarantee extended to shows no matter who produced them, but when The Mindy Project  (produced by NBCU) was cancelled by Fox after 67 episodes that certain guarantee was proven unreliable.

Henceforth, in such cases of third party producers, another rule will apply:

The Very Strong Suggestion Of The Syndication Gods
A show that finishes its third season with at least 66 episodes, but isn’t produced by the network’s own studio, is very likely but not certain to be renewed for a fourth season.

The Reaper Index is the ratio of a scripted show’s new episode adults 18-49 ratings relative to the new episode ratings of the other scripted shows on its own network. It’s calculated by dividing a show’s new episode Live+Same Day adults 18-49 average rating by the Live+Same Day new episode average of all the new scripted show episodes on the show’s own network. The network’s average ratings in the calculation are not time weighted (ex. hour long shows are not weighted twice what 30 minute shows are).

(F) -Fridays: Shows airing on Fridays were renewed with significantly lower than average Indexes.
