The Originals is likely to be canceled.

At the end of this season, its fourth, The Originals will have produced 79 episodes, and the CW likes to cancel its lowest rated shows after 4 seasons and 70+ episodes.

  • Reign 4 seasons, 78 episodes
  • Beauty & The Beast 4 seasons, 70 episodes
  • Hart Of Dixie 4 seasons, 76 episodes
  • Nikita 4 seasons, 73 episodes

The renewal of The 100 fit this pattern too. It will have just 58 episodes at the end of this season. One more order of 12 or more episodes puts it into the “ready to be canceled” range next season for the CW.
